- NJC 6-9, Full time salary: £25,989 - £27,254. Actual pro rata salary is £22,378 - £23,468 per year.
Additional allowances
SNA allowance £813.00 per year.
What skills and experience we're looking for
The Kassia Academy is a specialist SEMH provision within the Kings Academy Trust, offering a small, nurturing environment for young people who are unable to access mainstream education. We are committed to a trauma-informed approach, where strong relationships, high expectations, and personalised support enable pupils to re-engage with learning and achieve positive outcomes.
We are seeking a committed and skilled Teaching Assistant to join our team.
We are looking for someone who is patient, resilient, and committed to supporting vulnerable learners. The successful candidate will have experience of, or confidence in, working with pupils who may present with challenging behaviour, using calm, consistent, and restorative approaches to build positive relationships and promote engagement. They will thrive in a collaborative, supportive team environment and be dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment where every pupil can succeed.
Key responsibilities
- Support learners with a range of additional needs, both individually and in groups.
- Work closely with teachers to support learning, behaviour, and wellbeing.
- Help implement support plans and monitor learner progress.
- Prepare and adapt learning resources, including the use of ICT where appropriate.
- Promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
- Contribute to assessments, reports, and record keeping.
- Support learners during exams, trips, residentials, and off-site activities.
- Liaise effectively with staff, parents, and other professionals where required.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow all school policies and procedures.
- Participate in training and wider school activities as required.
