Hours: 33 hours a week (term time only, 38 weeks per year. 8:30am-3:30pm daily

  • Plus one weekly after-school TA meeting (until 4:00pm)
  • Part-time hours may be considered
  • Salary: Bucks Pay Range 1B (pro-rata, dependent on experience)
  • Actual salary: £18,657 - £19,398. Full-time equivalent: £24,836 - £25,823
About the Role

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our large, four-form entry infant school. You will support teaching and learning within Key Stage 1, working closely with teachers to help pupils achieve their full potential, including those with additional needs.

You will contribute to a nurturing, play-based learning environment where children are encouraged to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Essential Requirements
  • Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy qualifications (or willingness to work towards these within the next 6 months)
  • Experience of working closely with 5-7 year olds in a learning environment
  • Clear knowledge and understanding of the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum to both enhance and build on children’s learning
  • Experience of working with children with identified Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Ability to identify, support and plan for children’s next steps in learning
  • Experience of leading group activities with children with a range of learning needs
  • Experience of leading short whole-class sessions, such as stories and circle time
  • Ability to manage a range of behavioural needs in line with the school’s Behaviour for Learning policy
  • Confidence in communicating effectively with parents and carers
  • Confidence in the knowledge and skills to contribute to children’s learning records and assessments
  • Fully conversant with the school’s ethos of learning through play
  • Ability to make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school
