Teaching Assistant job summary

Heron Primary School is looking to appoint a reliable, caring & enthusiastic Teaching Assistant.

The successful candidate will be supporting pupils in Key Stage 2, working with pupils in the class and in small groups. Experience of working in a primary school setting is preferable. Applicants should be able to demonstrate a positive and sensitive approach that puts the needs of the child first, strong interpersonal skills, ability to show initiative and a clear understanding of the ways in which children learn successfully. An ability to show experience of behaviour modelling and behaviour management strategies would also be an advantage.

Working hours will be Monday - Friday, 8:30 - 3:15, with a half hour unpaid lunch.

The role includes 1/2 hour daily lunchtime cover, providing support outside for OPAL, or in the dinner hall as needs dictate. This half hour will be paid on a grade 2.
