What skills and experience we're looking for

The successful candidate will work as part of a team, delivering a structured timetable to children with autism spectrum conditions (ASC), SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) and challenging behaviours.

Essential

  • NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent work experience
  • Good numerical and literacy skills to GCSE standard or equivalent
  • An understanding of specific learning difficulties and/or physical impairments
  • Ability to work successfully with pupils who have special educational needs, including those who have behaviour support needs
  • An excellent caring and empathetic skill towards pupils
  • Has a commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils and providing equality of opportunity

Desirable

  • Knowledge of working with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
