What skills and experience we're looking for
The successful candidate will be:
- Enthusiastic and highly motivated to support children with additional needs, including some SEMH needs, in class and in 1:1 or small group programmes
- Experienced in working in a Primary School and able to successfully support learning
- Able to deliver 1:1 programmes as advised by external agencies
- Able to support good inclusion and model expected behaviours
- Able to work in a team but also able to work independently and use initiative
The successful candidate will need to have the following personal qualities:
The ability to build a strong relationship with the children, patience, resilience, knowledge of child development, creativity, good communication skills, physical capability

Kewstoke Primary School is a ‘Good School’ (June 2018) situated in the popular seaside town of Weston-super-Mare within easy reach of the M5 and routes to Bristol and the South West. Kewstoke is a smaller than average sized primary school with four classes, including a nursery, set in a rural area with beautiful surrounding countryside.
This role is suitable for an enthusiastic individual who is able to engage with the pupils. You must be a team player who is able to go out of your way to contribute to other areas of the school and you must have a high expectation of your work rate and the school itself.
The successful candidates will be part of a strong and supportive team. Applications are welcomed from NQTs, RQTs and experienced teachers.
