We have an exciting and rare opportunity available at Catton Grove Primary, as we are seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our talented, ambitious, committed and caring team! Catton Grove Primary School is a large three form entry school. We see what we do here as a vocation not a job and, as such, we work hard and go the extra mile for our pupils when we need to. The post is initially temporary until 17 July 2026 with a view to becoming permanent in 2026/27, depending on school budget.
We serve a deprived community with all of the challenges that come with it. We have very high expectations on behalf of our pupils and make no apologies for that. Catton Grove has a long-standing and robust reputation for the support we offer our pupils, staff and families.
As a classroom Teaching Assistant, you will be able to effectively support the class teacher in the day to day running of the class, as well as enabling pupils to learn by supporting groups or individuals in class or providing additional support with curriculum learning. You will ensure the smooth organisation of resourcing for the class and preparation of classroom activities.
We are looking for a TA with a positive ‘can do’ and flexible attitude, commitment, ability to communicate and work well with others, along with a willingness to be involved in the wider life of our school, including the planning and organisation of whole school events. You will be a good role model to children and be patient, calm, confident, consistent, encouraging and motivating!
We are fortunate to have the best of both worlds as we are the size of a high school but with the feel of a close-knit school family. We are a friendly committed team who work hard to meet the needs of all children in our school, supporting them to become lifelong learners who believe in themselves and aim high.
Catton Grove is a very welcoming school community, with enthusiastic pupils who are keen to learn and behave well. You would be joining a supportive, dedicated team of staff who work hard to enable our pupils to achieve the best they can.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact the school to arrange a telephone conversation with a Senior Leader, prior to application.
Please see our website - www.cattongrove.norfolk.sch.uk for more information.
