Teaching Assistant L1 job summary

The Opportunity

  • Assist the classroom teacher in the support and inclusion of students
  • Support access to learning for students and encourage interaction and independence
  • Supervise the activities of individuals or groups of students
  • Support students to understand instructions, concentrate, use equipment and motivate the student as needed
  • Establish constructive relationships with students and interact with them in a professional way, according to individual needs
  • Contribute to the management of student behaviour
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students

The Ideal Candidate

  • Good educational background with GCSE or equivalent in English Language and Maths
  • Level 1 or above Teaching Assistant qualification or willingness to work towards this
  • Experience of supporting students in a classroom environment, including those with a range of learning needs
  • Able to make and sustain positive relationships with students
  • Awareness of child protection issues
  • Strong team player and possess good communication skills
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic who can be a committed and reliable member of our team
