Rainbow Forge Primary Academy
Hours: 26 hours per week
Contract: Fixed term until July 2026 (with the potential for the role to become permanent)
Rainbow Forge Primary Academy is seeking a dedicated, caring, and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about helping children thrive both academically and socially.
The Role
Working under the guidance of the Headteacher and class teacher, you will support teaching and learning across the school, helping pupils to access the curriculum, develop independence, and reach their full potential. You will play a key role in creating a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all pupils.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of learning activities
- Work with individuals and small groups to help pupils access the curriculum and make progress
- Encourage independence and positive engagement in learning using effective strategies and adapted resources
- Support pupils with SEND, including liaising with parents/carers and external agencies where appropriate
- Contribute to behaviour management strategies, reinforcing positive behaviour consistently
- Provide care and support for pupils, including personal and intimate care where required
- Promote pupils’ health, wellbeing, and safeguarding at all times
- Prepare and use learning resources, including ICT, to support engaging classroom activities
- Escort and supervise pupils on educational visits and during off-site activities
- Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues, sharing information appropriately

Rainbow Forge Primary Academy is a larger than average sized primary school with approximately 360 children on role. We offer a nurturing, caring learning environment for children aged 2-11 years.
Our Nursery provision is divided into three separate rooms based on age and stage of development with each having its own specifically designed outdoor learning area. On leaving nursery children enter the reception class which also has its own specially designed outdoor learning area and dining room.
We offer a before and after school club for all children aged 2 -11 years in two separate spaces for the younger and older children.
We are fortunate to have extensive outside areas where children can safely learn and play. Other facilities include a gym, art studio, library equipped with computers, laptops and i-pads, a separate dining hall and an assembly hall with a stage equipped with a sound and lighting rig.
Creativity is an important part of life at Rainbow and we are proud to have been awarded the Silver Artsmark in recognition of our work.
