Teaching Assistant Level 1 job summary

34 hrs per week

We are delighted to invite applications for qualified Teaching Assistants to join us at an exciting point in our journey. Our new building has just been completed, providing a bespoke learning environment and new facilities for the whole school. This post offers the opportunity to support children with Autism and associated significant and complex needs. You will work alongside experienced, skilled and highly knowledgeable colleagues. This post would suit someone with experience in specialist settings however applicants with SEND experience in a mainstream school will also be considered. If you are keen to support children’s developing communication and independence skills as well as their cognitive and emotional development, we want to hear from you! It is likely the post will be in a Key Stage 1 class however there would be some flexibility for the right candidate.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an enthusiastic, creative and reflective practitioner
  • Is positive and forward-thinking
  • Has experience of supporting small groups
  • Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a supportive team
  • Is keen to contribute to the ongoing development of an outstanding, NAS Advanced special school
