Teaching Assistant Level 2 job summary
Barton St Peter's CE Primary School is looking for a compassionate, highly skilled Teaching Assistant to work from September 2022 providing general classroom support in Key Stage 2 and lunchtime cover. across the school.
The candidate will work closely within a very supportive team to promote learning and offer care, guidance and support that match the school’s ethos and values.
The successful candidate will have a secure understanding of delivering support in small groups and 1:1. We are looking for applicants who will use creative approaches to build the children's self-esteem, and independence and inspire them to ensure they reach their full potential in a mainstream setting.
The post is for 23.75 hours a week, 8:30 -12 in class and 12-1:15 providing lunchtime cover
You will:
Have experience of supporting children in their learning
Have good knowledge of the primary curriculum, particularly maths and English and phonics
Be able to support in the delivery of high quality learning experiences in small groups and 1:Be calm and patient and be able to see the potential in all of our children and be aspirational for them
Be nurturing and supportive with high expectations
Have excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
Be flexible
Have the ability to work independently, showing initiative, as well as be part of a team, co-operating and collaborating with other staff
