Kelvin Hall School is part of Thrive Co-operative Learning Trust formally (YHCLT) was formed in September 2016 and is now responsible for 9 schools across Hull, 2 secondary and 7 primary schools.
Required from September 2021 a permanent Teaching Assistant for our Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) Resource Base at Kelvin Hall School. Kelvin Hall School is looking for a committed practitioner to support, develop and implement our strategies for working with students and families to overcome barriers to learning.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience of working with children who have additional needs, either in a special or mainstream school. This will be a new challenge, working to support children in the very first secondary ASC Resource Base in the city which is now located in a mainstream secondary school. This is a new facility which opened in September 2020.
We wish to appoint a motivated and skilled professional to support our existing team in enabling students to access as much of the mainstream curriculum as possible.
We are looking for a candidate who:
Fully understands the varied needs of students with ASC, can work well with them in the Base and support their successful integration to mainstream lessons.
Has excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with parents/carers and professional colleagues.
