TEACHING ASSISTANT VACANCY: Lowther Primary School
Salary Range: TBC
Lowther Primary School would like to appoint an enthusiastic and skilled Teaching Assistant (TA) to our successful and happy school.
The post is full-time (usual working hours 8.45am – 3.30pm, term-time only).
We will also consider part-time candidates.
It is essential that candidates have:
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- strong literacy and numeracy skills
- good organisational skills
- the ability to work as a member of a team
It is desirable that candidates have:
- experience of working with children in an education setting
- a commitment to, and a track record of, commitment to their own professional development
As a teaching assistant at Lowther you will:
- assist in the support and inclusion of pupils, including pupils with SEND, within the school by work alongside the class teacher and wider team.
- provide appropriate support for individual pupils in literacy and numeracy and targeted support for small groups of pupils across the school.
- deliver interventions including speech and language, phonics, literacy, maths and other areas of need subject to appropriate training.
- support children who have identified conditions such as; autism spectrum disorder and social, emotional and mental health needs.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with dedicated and talented professional colleagues. School-based training will be provided from experienced class teachers and annual professional development reviews. We are a supportive and friendly team. An offer of this appointment is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure Baring Service check, medical clearance and good references.
