Lowther
Primary School would like to appoint an enthusiastic and skilled Teaching
Assistant (TA) to our successful and happy school.
The post is
full-time (usual working hours 8.45am – 3.30pm, term-time only).
We will also
consider part-time candidates.
It is
essential that candidates have:
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- strong literacy and numeracy skills
- good organisational skills
- the ability to work as a member of a team
It is
desirable that candidates have:
- experience of working with children in an
education setting - a commitment to, and a track record of, commitment to their own professional
development
As a
teaching assistant at Lowther you will:
- assist in the support and inclusion of pupils,
including pupils with SEND, within the school by work alongside the class
teacher and wider team. - provide appropriate support for individual
pupils in literacy and numeracy and targeted support for small groups of pupils
across the school. - deliver interventions including speech and
language, phonics, literacy, maths and other areas of need subject to
appropriate training. - support children who have identified conditions
such as; autism spectrum disorder and social, emotional and mental health
needs.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with
dedicated and talented professional colleagues. School-based training will be
provided from experienced class teachers and annual professional development
reviews. We are a supportive and friendly team. We are committed to
safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to
share this commitment.
An offer of
this appointment is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure Baring
Service check, medical clearance and good references.
