About the Role

We are seeking four dedicated, proactive and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join the team at Noel Baker Academy. Working under the direction of the SENCO, you will support pupils both in and out of the classroom, helping them to access learning, develop independence and achieve their full potential.

You will provide targeted support to individuals and groups, deliver interventions, contribute to learning activities, and assist pupils with a range of needs, including SEND, emotional and social development needs, and those requiring additional care or support.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for an experienced, caring and skilled individual who understands the important contribution Teaching Assistants make to pupils’ learning, development and wellbeing. The ideal candidate will be confident in supporting learning activities, working with pupils with individual needs, and contributing positively to the wider academy community.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have GCSE pass level, or equivalent qualifications, in English/literacy and maths/numeracy, or significant demonstrable experience in a similar role.
  • Hold a relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent relevant qualification/experience linked to supporting teaching and learning.
  • Have experience of working within an education setting or equivalent, including supporting pupils to raise attainment through personal intervention.
  • Be able to support pupils with a range of individual needs and from a range of backgrounds, including pupils with SEND.
  • Understand how Teaching Assistants contribute to raising standards through promoting independent learning.
  • Have strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families, colleagues and external agencies.
  • Be confident in supporting the planning, preparation and delivery of learning activities for individuals, groups or whole classes.
  • Have knowledge of appropriate behaviour management strategies and be able to apply these fairly and consistently.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Be organised, reflective and willing to continue developing professionally in line with the expectations of the role.
