As a Teaching Assistant at Ormiston Kensington Queensmill Academy, you will play a vital role in our teaching and learning team, supporting autistic pupils to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will assist in the delivery of high-quality education while fostering a nurturing and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support class teachers in organising activities, resources, and materials tailored for autistic pupils.

  • Build strong relationships with pupils and their families, acting as a positive role model.

  • Assist with maintaining a safe and organised learning environment.

  • Support pupils' understanding of instructions and tasks.

  • Respond to pupils' welfare needs, including personal care and medical requirements where appropriate.

  • Accompany pupils on off-site visits, including swimming trips.

  • Assist with playground duties and supervision of pupils.

  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school safeguarding policies.

  • Participate in relevant training to enhance knowledge and skills in autism support.

Ormiston Kensington Queensmill Academy is a school for children and young people with autism and other specific learning difficulties.
