As a Teaching Assistant at Ormiston Kensington Queensmill Academy, you will play a vital role in our teaching and learning team, supporting autistic pupils to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will assist in the delivery of high-quality education while fostering a nurturing and supportive environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport class teachers in organising activities, resources, and materials tailored for autistic pupils.
Build strong relationships with pupils and their families, acting as a positive role model.
Assist with maintaining a safe and organised learning environment.
Support pupils' understanding of instructions and tasks.
Respond to pupils' welfare needs, including personal care and medical requirements where appropriate.
Accompany pupils on off-site visits, including swimming trips.
Assist with playground duties and supervision of pupils.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school safeguarding policies.
Participate in relevant training to enhance knowledge and skills in autism support.
