What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking to recruit a dedicated one to one Teaching Assistant. The post is to support an
individual child with their social and emotional needs. This position is to
work 8.30am – 3.30pm Monday to Friday during the school term time.
We are looking for someone compassionate and understanding who will support our inclusive ethos by developing strong supportive secure relationships with our children, built on mutual respect.
As a Teaching Assistant you will be passionate about teaching and learning and believe in developing the true potential of children. You will have a calm and positive disposition, the ability to break down activities into small step teaching and will nurture, inspire, challenge and motivate pupils. Implementing clear boundaries and routines, you will use positive behaviour management in all areas around school.
Within this role you will be working in the classroom supporting the learning needs of a child with SEND, you will be carrying out pre planned appropriate activities to ensure they are getting the most out of their education, you will also be working with a wide range of different professions all with the common goal of ensuring the best care and education is given to our children.
Good, clear and effective communication will play a key role in this position, you will need to work with and alongside the child, their family and other members of staff.
You will be enthusiastic and passionate about child development, play and interaction with knowledge on how you can develop this to enhance children’s experiences.
You will have a clear understanding of the child’s needs and how you can best help and support them. You may provide personal care including toileting, changing and feeding, encouraging independence where appropriate.
You will also be willing to support the Christian ethos of our school.
