What skills and experience we're looking for

Would you like to work in a small school in a big community? At Prendergast Vale School we believe all our pupils can achieve success in life by working hard and being kind.

We wish to appoint a Teaching Assistant to play a key role in supporting Class Teachers in the teaching and welfare of student development across the primary and secondary phase of the school. The post holder will work with pupils individually and in small groups. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated and nurturing team in supporting learning, progress and attainment within the classroom.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, flexible and organised with excellent communication skills and initiative. You will have the ability to develop positive relationships with children, parents / carers and colleagues and the ability to support children to develop their independence, self-confidence and social interaction. You will possess Maths and English GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent).

The post may appeal to those who are looking to become a teacher and would like to gain some experience before applying.

Hours: 35 hours a week, term time only i.e. 39 weeks, including 5 Inset Days.

Salary: Scale 3 (point 5 - 6) £30,120 - £30,552 pro-rata.
