About the Role:

Rydon Primary School is seeking two dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to provide high-quality support to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This role will involve working closely with class teachers, the SENDCo, and other staff to ensure children with additional needs can access a broad and balanced curriculum, thrive socially and emotionally, and make strong progress.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN, both in and out of the classroom

Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated learning activities

Implement learning and behaviour support plans as directed by the SENDCo or class teacher

Promote independence and confidence in pupils with additional needs

Support with personal care or physical needs where necessary (training will be provided)

Help monitor and record progress against targets and contribute to review meetings

Communicate effectively with teachers, parents/carers, and external professionals as required

Contribute to the wider life of the school and uphold the school’s inclusive ethos

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience of working with children with SEN, particularly those with communication, social, emotional or learning needs

A calm, nurturing and adaptable approach

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children

The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families

Strong communication and teamwork skills

A willingness to learn and undertake relevant training
