We have exciting opportunities for experienced Teaching Assistants to support children with Special Educational Needs at our school.
You will need to be able to support children with a range of needs including autistic spectrum disorder, speech and language difficulties and a range of communication needs. Liaison and building relationships with families is a key part of this role. You will attend to personal needs and implement related personal programmes, including hygiene, physical, first aid and medical matters. The school has an intimate care policy which fully supports staff who care for children with special educational needs. The ability to use your own initiative both working alone and as part of a friendly team is vital. The successful candidate will be supported with appropriate continuous professional development.
You must have fluent spoken and written English for this role.
We may close this vacancy early and begin interviews before the closing date if we receive a strong field of suitable candidates, so early applications are encouraged.
The School is dedicated to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and expects all staff members to uphold this commitment. All applicants must be prepared to undergo child protection screening relevant to the position, which includes background checks with previous employers and the Criminal Records Bureau. Those who were born or have lived outside the UK may need to acquire additional overseas checks, which will be the responsibility of the candidate.
Please contact Mrs Nugent, Special Educational Needs Leader with any questions on 01582 534000.
