Teaching Assistant job summary

The Headteacher and Governors of St Laurence Church Junior School are seeking to appoint a Level 3 teaching assistant to support children with an EHCP within classes as well as within smaller groups and a nurture / behaviour setting. You will be required to build a strong bond with the pupils you are working with in order to provide the highest level of support, therefore it is important you are able to build relationships quickly and understand the needs of the pupils you will be supporting. Our school has achieved Silver award TIAAS and our ethos is built around using Zones of Regulation and emotion coaching to support children.

We are looking for someone who:

* is nurturing and caring

* is empathetic and has a passionate approach to children

* is proactive, flexible and willing

* has the ability to build rapport with disengaged students

* is confident in working with students with challenging behaviour

* has a passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning

* has the ability and experience to run small group interventions

* can liaise with and communicate effectively with teachers, SENDCO and parents

* desirably has an understanding or experience of working with children/young people with Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties or learning difficulties, SEMH and trauma
