Teaching Assistant - KS1 or KS2

St Wilfrid's Catholic Academy

St Wilfrid's Catholic Academy is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils academically and pastorally, helping them thrive in their learning and personal development within a nurturing, faith-led school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted academic support to pupils, helping them achieve their full potential.
  • Offer pastoral care to promote wellbeing and emotional development.
  • Work closely with class teachers to deliver high-quality learning experiences.
  • Support the inclusion and progress of all pupils within the classroom environment.

Hours

  • 25 hours per week
  • 5 hours per day

Start Date

  • Monday 5th January 2026 (or as soon as possible)

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with primary-aged pupils.
  • Ability to support pupils both academically and pastorally.
  • Commitment to working collaboratively within a professional team.

Desirable Qualities

  • Warm, patient, and approachable manner.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to motivate and encourage pupils.
  • Commitment to upholding the Catholic ethos and fostering a positive learning environment.
