The Coombes CE Primary School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join our high-performing Upper Key Stage 2 team.

Our Upper Key Stage 2 team has a strong track record of success, achieving outcomes that are consistently well above national averages, whilst ensuring pupils benefit from a rich and inspiring curriculum that prepares them for the next stage of their education.

Working closely with the class teacher and our skilled team of Teaching Assistants, you will support high-quality teaching and learning, helping pupils to develop confidence, independence and resilience. You will play a vital role in ensuring every child is fully included, challenged appropriately and able to achieve their very best.

  • Has experience of working with primary-aged children (Upper Key Stage 2 experience would be advantageous).

  • Builds positive and nurturing relationships with children whilst maintaining high expectations.

  • Can confidently support pupils with English and mathematics.

  • Enjoys working collaboratively within a successful and supportive team.

  • Is adaptable, proactive and able to use their initiative.

  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

In this role you will:

  • Support high-quality teaching and learning within the classroom.

  • Deliver targeted interventions for individuals and small groups.

  • Help pupils to become resilient, independent and confident learners.

  • Promote positive behaviour and contribute to an ambitious learning culture.

  • Prepare learning resources and maintain an engaging classroom environment.

  • Support educational visits, sporting events and the wider life of the school.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, leaders and external professionals to ensure every child reaches their full potential.
