What skills and experience we're looking for

Teaching Assistant

An exciting opportunity has come up at our small village school to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to become part of our friendly and supportive team.

The successful candidate will be supporting a child with additional needs in Key Stage 1. Experience in either Key Stage would be beneficial.

We are looking for someone:

  • Who is calm,flexibleand imaginative.
  • To work as a key worker for a child with additional needs.
  • Has good interpersonal skills and is able to use their initiative as well as working well in a team.
  • Has a good level of English, Maths and IT skills.
  • Who is able to offer experience in an alternative curriculum area, such as PE or a language. (Desirable)

This role will be classroom-based with the successful candidate taking direction from the class teacher and SENCO to provide high quality support to small groups of children and 1:1 individuals.

A willingness to undertake the following training is essential:

  • Children Protection and Prevent Training
  • First Aid Training

The successful candidate will be:

What the school offers its staff

This will be an open ended contract

From Grade 15 Point 3 to 4 depending on experience

8.30am till 3.30pm term time only to include a 30 minute unpaid lunch break with the availability to stay on till 4.15pm when required.

32.5 hours per week including a daily lunch duty.
