Vision, Values and Ethos

Our philosophy at TGA is together we make a difference.

Why do we do what we do?

We are here to enable every child to flourish in every way. We work together as a community to offer a launch pad for the children in our care to dive into life’s adventures, striving for personal success and fulfilment.

We create a safe, welcoming environment that provides inspiring and motivating experiences, and support everyone to develop strategies that enable them to take full advantage of what the world has to offer.

We believe that everyone has the talent and potential to excel in life. We celebrate the uniqueness of every individual, and cherish the diversity of the community we belong to.

We want to make a difference, and strive to be the difference.

How do we achieve this?

We have our Five Ways of Being. These are the values that we have at our core, and enable us to set our promises. They help all of us to make decisions, challenge our thinking and to arrive at the best possible solutions.

Our Five Ways of Being

Aspiring
When we are aspiring, we are looking for the opportunities that the world has to offer us and actively engaging with those opportunities.

- We will do everything we can do to feel successful and fulfilled.

- We will try to be the best version of ourselves, setting goals and challenges to achieve.

- We will pursue the knowledge and skills that will help us to achieve our goals, seeing obstacles that occur as opportunities to grow and learn.

Encouraging
When we are encouraging, we are supporting our friends, family and community to flourish and work together.

- We will be positive in our language and actions, and will encourage other people to set themselves goals and challenges.

- We will champion other people’s successes and talents that can be used as motivation or mentors to those around us.

- We will look out for those in need and try to find ways where we can help them or find someone else that can.

- We will help others to never give up on themselves and to know that there is always someone or something that can be done when the going gets tough.

Enriching
When we are enriching, we are providing opportunities that will lead to success and fulfilment for others.

- We will welcome everyone into our environment with warmth and kindness.

- We will always try to use words and actions that boost confidence and inspire positive action.

- We will ensure that everyone knows that learning is a continuous life long process.

- We will do things that enable people to be healthy in body and mind.

Resilient
When we are resilient, we are overcoming the challenges that life sometimes presents us with.

- We will try to recognise that our mistakes and errors are opportunities to learn and grow.

- We will commit ourselves to learning from our achievements.

- We will seek to find ways to overcome obstacles ourselves, safe in the knowledge that someone will always be there to help.

- We will support others to find the strategies that work for them in the situations they find challenging.

- We will never give up.

Respectful
When we are respectful we are showing kindness, tolerance and acceptance of the words, beliefs and actions of others, and we are acting with inherent goodness.

- We will challenge words and actions that we know will harm others.

- We will accept the decisions of those that we have entrusted to make decisions for us.

- We will be thoughtful and kind in our thoughts, words and actions.

- We will always try to win with humility and lose with dignity, considering the feelings and emotions of other people around us.

- We will try to make other people feel that they have a voice and are valued.

- We will demonstrate how we uphold the Fundamental British Values of tolerance, respect, democracy, individual liberty and the rule of law.
