We have a vacancy for a versatile, skilful and dedicated Art, Design and Technology Technician to provide high-quality support to a large, dynamic and successful team of teachers.
The successful candidate will have:
- a strong creative background in Art and Design
- computer literate and experience of using excel and word
- strong organisation, quality assurance and quality control skills
- excellent time management
- good communication skills to deal with students, staff and suppliers
- a wide range of excellent practical skills
- strong organisational ability with the ablilty to assist with monitoring budgeting
- a genuine interest in education and young people
The Art, Design and Technology Technician provides support to students and teaching staff with reference to the use of a range of machinery, equipment and processes familiar in Art and Design Departments such as laser cutters, 3D printers, lathes, sewing machines. They should have knowledge of resistant materials including the use of wood, metal and plastic alongside the use of electronic testing equipment. Duties including the setting up, use and maintenance of equipment and machinery. The technician will be able to provide materials for lessons, assist with technical demonstrations, have excellent ICT and CAD/CAM knowledge and be skilled at managing resources within the budget and have oversight of health and safety procedures within the department.
