Trust Data Developer job summary
PolyMAT is a small and dedicated Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) known for its close-knit community. We are looking for a Trust Data Developer to join our team. Our vision is “Success for Everyone,” and the right candidate will help us achieve this goal for our schools.
We currently operate three schools within our Trust: Woolwich Polytechnic School for Boys, a well-established boys’ school; Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls, which opened in 2019; and Bannockburn Primary School, a large and successful primary school that joined us on November 1, 2023. We also have a thriving co-educational Sixth Form.

We are looking to appoint a Trust Data Developer. The successful candidate will design, develop, test, and implement data solutions that support the Trust’s data-driven decision-making. This role includes creating custom workflows, dashboards, applications, and other solutions for the Trust and its schools. These solutions will assist in managing and analysing the various datasets held by the schools and the central Trust. Additionally, the role entails maintaining key trust-wide data sets and lookup tables, managing data across the Trust’s Management Information Systems (MIS), providing mentoring, training, and support to school-based data managers or other staff, including advising on timetabling, assessment, and data management.
The Data Developer will be an essential member of the Trust’s central team and will ensure that the data needed for cross-school analysis is reliable, comparable, and delivered on time. They will strive to develop the Trust Data service as a model of excellence and a valuable central support for all school leaders within the Trust.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
- Three or more years of experience as a data manager in a trust, school, or business context.
- Strong skills in data analysis tools, reporting platforms, and database systems (e.g., SQL, Excel, Power BI, or similar).
- Advanced skills in Power BI, including data modeling, report development, PowerQuery, DAX, and row-level security (RLS).
- Expertise in building Power Apps and workflows using Power Automate.
