Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Whole Class Music Teaching: Planning and delivering engaging and progressive whole-class music lessons to children across various primary year groups, fostering a love for music and developing foundational skills.
Instrumental Provision: Contributing to the development and implementation of an instrumental learning program, with the possibility of providing small group tuition to support children in learning an instrument.
Ensemble Development: Establishing and leading school ensembles (e.g., choir, orchestra, band) to provide performance opportunities and further develop students' musical talents.
Curriculum Development: Collaborating with other music specialists and the Director of Arts to design, review, and enhance a comprehensive music curriculum that ensures all children have equitable access to instrumental learning.
Collaboration: Working effectively as part of a team of specialist music teachers, sharing best practices, resources, and expertise.
Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Assessing student progress in music and providing constructive feedback to support their development.
Promoting Music: Championing the importance of music within the school community, fostering a vibrant and creative atmosphere.
