SEND Teaching Assistant job summary
We are seeking a caring and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children by supporting their learning, wellbeing and personal development both inside and outside the classroom.
Due to Crown Street Primary's unique location, there is no parking on site. However, there are Pay & Display bays on the surrounding roads of Great Jackson Street, which is where Crown Street Primary School is located. Public transport is excellent, with Crown Street Primary School being a 7-minute walk from Deansgate Train Station and Deansgate-Castlefield Tram Stop. We also offer interest free loans for the purchase of annual travel tickets.
Here at the Laurus Trust we are able to provide a cutting-edge SEND provision that has a positive impact on our young people, and we are currently looking to recruit caring and dedicated individuals to join our SEND team. You will play a vital role in enhancing pupils progress whilst promoting their independence, self-esteem and social inclusion. A comprehensive offer of professional learning is in place and we ensure that all schools have designated work spaces for staff. A broad range of training in SEND is in place across all our schools focused on whole school SEND issues as well as specific training for SEND teams.

This position is contracted on a 30 hours per week Term Time only (Monday - Friday 8:45am - 3:15pm). This means you will mainly work when the school is open to pupils and will not need to work during the school holidays unless the contract requires you to do so.

- To provide high standards of care and play opportunities for children between the ages of 4 and 11 years old in a safe, secure and stimulating kids club environment.
- To support the learning, personal development and inclusion of pupils in accordance with the ethos and policies of the school.
Key Skills and Experiences
- Sound Educational background including GCSE's in Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent.
- Experience of supporting pupils with specific Special Educational Needs
