Unqualified Teacher job summary

Unqualified Teacher Required for Teaching of a Group of High Needs Children

Full-Time

Salary on Unqualified Scale and subject to experience

To start September 2025

Dear Prospective Candidate,

Thank you very much for your interest in the permanent Unqualified Teacher position at Jubilee Wood. We are seeking a passionate and imaginative candidate to join our successful SEND Team in supporting children with High Needs, including ASC. We very much welcome candidates who want to make a difference within our fantastic school community and who are prepared to work under the school SENDCO in delivering highly positive outcomes for SEND children.

The successful candidate will have the following qualities:

- The ability and willingness to work in partnership with the SENDCO and the team of TAs in supporting high needs children, particularly in the school’s ‘High Needs’ Rooms (one of which is currently ‘Sparrows’).

- The patience, interest and compassion to inform good practice and high quality of care for the SEND children.

- The ability to plan lessons and sequences of learning in advance, and to modify plans in real-time to closely match the needs of the high needs children and their various particular challenges and abilities.

Our school was judged as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in February 2022 with ‘Outstanding’ Personal Development. Following extensive curriculum redesign and recruitment of excellent staff, recent years’ attainment and progress at Jubilee Wood has been broadly in-line with national averages despite serving a more deprived community. We are very fortunate to have a fantastic staff team at present and will be looking to go one step further at our next inspection, given for our fabulous provision and the excellent behaviour and conduct of the children.

You can find out more about the school by visiting our website: www.jubileewood.milton-keynes.sch.uk. Visits to the school are strongly advised - we have much to offer! We have a great blend of older and younger staff and the ethos in our school is extremely warm, positive and genuine. A virtual school tour can be taken here: https://youtu.be/w2c3lJYcuHY. Please contact matt.obrien@jubileewood.milton-keynes.sch.uk if you have any queries regarding the role.

Should you choose to apply, I look forward to receiving your completed application by noon 11th June 2025 (though we reserve the right to bring forward the deadline depending on circumstances). Interviews will take place in the following week.

Yours sincerely,

Matt O’Brien

Headteacher
