Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for a talented individual to help foster a caring and supportive learning environment for our young people. Your experience of pastoral care will place our learners’ welfare at the heart of the school.
The successful candidate will be a committed team player with excellent organisational and technical skills. You will have the ability to effectively support learning and teaching, and to develop relationships across our school and the Star community.
You will have:
- Experience of working with children.
- Understanding of and ability to implement Health and Safety standards in an educational environment.
- The ability to deal with students in a fair, patient and firm manner.
- The ability to liaise with both the support staff and teaching staff at the school and to work with others as a team.

The Olive School, Preston is a Muslim faith-based, primary school for 4 to 11 year olds, which welcomes pupils from all faiths and none. We opened in 2016 and, like all Star schools, we have a leadership specialism. We were graded as ‘Outstanding’ in all areas by Ofsted during our first inspection in June 2019. At our last inspection in December 2024, the school was commended for upholding the same high standards of academic excellence, teaching, character development and behaviour that resulted in the school’s previous ‘Outstanding’ rating.

We provide a knowledge-based academic curriculum alongside a rich and diverse leadership programme that grows character and inspires charitable and social action. The Olive School, Preston is a 420 place Muslim faith based primary school which welcomes children from all faiths and none. It opened in September 2016, admitting 60 children into Reception and 60 children into Year 1. It will welcome another 60 children into Reception each September and will reach its full size in 2021. Like all Star schools, it has “Leadership” as a specialism.
