Wellbeing Coach job summary

Are you passionate about making a difference in children’s lives? Do you have the empathy, resilience and commitment to help every pupil reach their potential? If so, Knockhall Primary School would love to hear from you.

We are seeking to appoint a compassionate, proactive and inclusive Wellbeing Coach to join our dedicated pastoral team. This role plays a vital part in supporting children to overcome barriers to learning and thrive – both in and out of the classroom.

As a Wellbeing Coach, you will work with pupils who are vulnerable to underachievement due to poor attendance, low self-esteem, behavioural or emotional difficulties, or personal circumstances. You will build strong relationships with pupils, families and professionals, developing tailored strategies and programmes to promote wellbeing, resilience and progress.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for inclusion and a deep understanding of how to support children's emotional and social development.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience of working with children and families in an educational or pastoral setting

  • Be emotionally intelligent, empathetic, and confident in building trusting relationships

  • Support pupils through individual mentoring and small group interventions to remove barriers to learning

  • Liaise with families, staff and external agencies to ensure integrated support for children

  • Play a key safeguarding role, including acting as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (training will be provided if required)

    • Contribute to whole-school wellbeing initiatives and help embed a culture of positive behaviour and inclusion

    • Have excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure

We welcome applications from candidates with a relevant Level 3 qualification and a genuine passion for improving the lives of children. Experience of safeguarding responsibilities, play therapy or mentoring is desirable.

Please refer to the job description and person specification for further information. In your application, tell us how your knowledge, experience and personal values make you an excellent fit for this role.

Join us and help ignite the spark, reveal the champion.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if a suitable candidate is found, so early application is encouraged.
