Wellbeing Lead job summary

The Bishop of Winchester Academy is seeking to appoint a Wellbeing Lead to play a central role in supporting the wellbeing and mental health of our students. This unique role combines leading the Christian ethos of the academy with providing high-quality wellbeing and emotional support to enable all students to flourish.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and compassionate professional who is able to work empathically, non-judgementally and collaboratively to support students experiencing social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

As Wellbeing Lead, you will be welcomed into an experienced team of professionals:

  • Leading on student mental health and wellbeing
  • Providing a safe space and listening ear for students
  • Supporting students with SEMH needs to access the curriculum
  • Delivering and developing emotional literacy and wellbeing interventions
  • Supporting students experiencing anxiety or school refusal
  • Working closely with safeguarding, pastoral teams and external agencies
  • Leading CPD for staff on emotional literacy and wellbeing
  • Supporting transition for vulnerable students
