Wraparound Care Coordinator (Level 3 Qualification required) job summary

The Ferrars Academy is a very popular, successful and well resourced academy; rated Good by Ofsted, we pride ourselves on delivering excellence in education, for infant and nursery aged children. We are located on the outskirts of Luton close to the M1, A5 link roads and the L&D hospital. Our 3 form entry school has a very diverse school population with a range of different languages, religions and cultures. Our children are well behaved and learn in a vibrant and friendly environment.

Our Wraparound Care provision is one of the essential services we offer our parent community. We are looking to recruit a highly committed and passionate person to join our team. As the co-ordinator, you will be responsible for organising, developing and leading the provision, ensuring that it provides high quality care for the children who attend. You MUST hold a Level 3 Childcare Qualification. First Aid and Basic Hygiene certificates would be desirable but full training will be given.

This is a permanent position, starting September 2025.

The successful candidate will be someone who can:

  • Work with children aged 3-7 and holds a Level 3 childcare qualification
  • Greet parents and children in a welcoming manner
  • Plan, set up and engage in recreational activities and the provision of healthy food
  • Ensure children are safe and happy
  • Clear away snacks and activities leaving a tidy environment
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, be flexible and model good communication skills
  • Display high expectations of pupil behaviour
  • Work well as part of a team

Hours of work:

Monday - Friday 7:30am - 9:00am and then 3:00pm - 5:15pm, term time only (38 weeks per year) (18.75 hours per week)

Additional information:

Applicants for this public facing post will need to demonstrate the ability to converse and provide effective help or advice in fluently spoken English.
