Year 2 Maternity Cover job summary

The successful candidate will need to be an excellent classroom practitioner, committed to making a difference to children’s learning. You must have sound knowledge and understanding of planning, delivering and assessing the primary curriculum, rooted in up-to-date pedagogical theory. Our St Francis approach to teaching and learning can be found in the 'Curriculum' area on our website and we recommend that you have a look at this. A sense of humour, a 'can-do' approach and an ability to work well with others is essential!

Candidates with an understanding of Catholic education would be welcome, but not a requirement. However, you must support our Catholic ethos and be happy to teach our RE curriculum. Support with this will be provided.

You are warmly invited to visit the school or telephone the Headteacher or Assistant Headteacher, who will be pleased to discuss the post in more detail. Visits to the school (which can be arranged from 7:30am to 6:30pm) will enable you to get a feel for our unique setting and amazing pupils and staff. St Francis is a busy, successful and popular school; reading our Ofsted report from last summer will give you an understanding of our many strengths.

Completed application forms should be submitted by midnight on Friday 16th May. If you are successfully shortlisted, you will be informed by Monday 19th May with interviews taking place on Wednesday 21st May.
