Year 4 Class Teacher (Maternity Cover) job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to teach a wonderful class of enthusiastic and well-behaved children within our supportive and welcoming school community. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced colleagues and will play a key role in continuing to provide high quality teaching and learning experiences for our pupils.

Whilst the role is due to commence in October 2026, there may be an opportunity for the successful candidate to begin working with us earlier to support transition arrangements and ensure a smooth handover.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations for all pupils.
  • Has a secure knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
  • Creates engaging and inclusive learning experiences that inspire children to achieve their best.
  • Builds positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
  • Is reflective, enthusiastic and committed to continual professional development.
  • Will contribute positively to the wider life of our school community.
