We are seeking ambitious and talented teachers to take on the role of Year Lead as we continue to develop our school.

This exciting opportunity would suit teachers with several years of classroom and subject leadership experience who are ready to take the next step in their professional journey. The role offers an excellent platform for developing leadership skills, and previous colleagues who have held this position have gone on to senior leadership roles.

At St Matthew’s we aspire to be a light in the heart of our community, providing an ambitious curriculum and rich experiences that nurture curiosity, confidence and a lifelong love of learning. As we move into our second decade, we are looking for committed leaders who will help shape the next stage of the school’s development.

Our priorities include:

Developing an exciting STEM offer, building partnerships with local businesses and organisations

Continuing to strengthen our ambitious curriculum, ensuring pupils develop deep knowledge and understanding

Increasing opportunities for pupils to experience and celebrate cultural diversity

Ensuring every child feels inspired, supported and challenged to achieve their best

The Year Lead role sits within our extended leadership structure. Year Leads work closely with teachers and teaching assistants in their year group to support high-quality teaching, strong organisation and a positive team culture, while also engaging with parents and the wider community.

We are looking for teachers who:

Are strong classroom practitioners with high expectations for all pupils

Have excellent organisation and communication skills

Are excited by the opportunity to lead and develop a team

Are motivated to grow into wider leadership responsibilities

In return we offer a supportive, ambitious staff team, opportunities for leadership development and coaching, and a school community that values innovation, collaboration and high aspirations for every child. As well as acceleration up the pay spine for successful candidates.

If you are ready to take the next step in your career and help shape the future of St Matthew’s, we would love to hear from you.
