What skills and experience we're looking for

Garstang Community Primary School are seeking to appoint a skilled, enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our lovely school. The role would be to support a child with an EHCP, currently in Y2. The pupil can find the school environment a challenge at times, and the successful candidate will have good relationship building skills, be skilled in behaviour management and be a kind, caring and dedicated support. The hours are 23 per week, 8:45– 3:30, Monday-Thursday.We are looking for a teaching assistant who:

Has a relevant NVQ2 qualification or higher

Has recent, relevant experience of working with children with SEN

Is calm, patient and nurturing, and skilled in managing challenging behaviour

Is resilient, committed and flexible and able to ‘think on their feet’

Builds excellent relationships with children, staff and parents

Essential Qualifications

Maths and English GCSE Grade 4or equivalent

Level 2 Teaching Assistant Qualification or similar

Desirable Qualifications

Any SEND based qualification and CPD

Essential Experience

Working in a primary school environment
