Morice Town Primary Academy, Reach South Academy Trust is seeking to appoint an exceptional and experience After School Club Assistant to join the School in September 2026.

Post: After School Club Assistant

Location: Morice Town Primary Academy, Charlotte Street, Devonport, Plymouth, PL2 1RJ

FTE Salary Range: NJC Grade A Point 3, £24, 796

Actual Annual Salary: £6709 Pro Rata

Contract Type: Permanent

Contract Hours: 11.25 Hours per week, Monday to Friday

About the role

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic School Club Assistant to join our Afterschool Club provision from September 2026. We are seeking to employ a creative individual who will make a positive contribution to our busy and friendly club. The role will require:

  • To ensure the smooth and reliable operation of the club
  • To provide a stimulating environment for the children with creative and play opportunities
  • To assist in ensuring the safety of all those children at the club
  • To act in a responsible manner towards the children at all times
  • To be responsible for ensuring that play materials and equipment are properly used, maintained
  • To assist with the day to day administration and record-keeping
  • Preparing and serving afternoon snack to the children
  • Escorting children

About the successful candidate

  • Experience of working with parents and carers from a range of cultural backgrounds, encouraging full participation in their children's play and learning opportunities
  • Experience of working as part of team providing high quality childcare services
  • At least 2 years' experience of working with children in the 4-11 years age range and their families
  • Knowledge of child protection issues and policies and relevant Safeguarding procedures
  • Already holding a first aid and/or food hygiene qualification would be advantageous.
