We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Administrative Assistant to join our school office team at Burnham-on-Sea Infant School and St Andrew's Church Junior School. This is a varied and rewarding role, providing comprehensive administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school. You will be the first point of contact for staff, parents, pupils and visitors, and play an important part in maintaining efficient systems and high-quality service.

This is a full-time role, worked equally across both Burnham-on-Sea Infant School and St Andrew's Church of England Junior School. Working days at each site will be confirmed upon appointment.

As part of this role, you will:

  • Provide professional administrative and receptionist support across the school.
  • Manage queries via phone, email and in person, ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Support the organisation of school trips, meetings, attendance matters and events.
  • Maintain school systems, including data management, room/diary bookings, newsletters and communication tools.
  • Provide accurate and timely administration including the school's Single Central Record.
  • Ensure safeguarding, confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of the role.

About you:

  • Strong organisational and IT skills, with good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience of working in a busy office or customer-facing role (school environment desirable).
  • A team player with resilience, reliability and a commitment to safeguarding and supporting young people.
