What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a friendly, organised and proactive Administrative Assistant to join our busy school office. As the first point of contact for parents, visitors and staff, you will play an important role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school while helping to create a welcoming and professional environment.

This is a varied role covering reception, administration, pupil records, finance support and general office duties, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and being part of a supportive school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for parents, visitors and phone/email enquiries
  • Maintain pupil records and attendance using systems such as SIMS
  • Support school administration including trips, communications, newsletters and website updates
  • Administer systems such as ParentPay and parent communications
  • Support financial processes including orders, invoices and payment monitoring
  • Assist with nursery administration and parental payments
  • Support health and safety checks and help coordinate premises maintenance
  • Provide general office support including photocopying, post handling and parent communications

What We’re Looking For

  • Excellent organisation and communication skills
  • Friendly and professional approach when dealing with parents and visitors
  • Strong administration and IT skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy school environment
  • Experience using SIMS, ParentPay or school systems (desirable but not essential)

The role is term time only for 31.25 hours per week, Monday- Friday 08.15 –15.30 with an hour unpaid lunch break. The role is paid on the NJC Pay scale as Grade E points 4-5 with a starting salary of £25,185 pro rata.
