What skills and experience we're looking for

Due to the increase in the level of need within our children at John Clifford School, we are looking to appoint a creative and driven individual who can support within the SEND Team. This is a great opportunity to join an established and well respected team; supporting and changing the experiences of many children and their families.

Purpose of the Role: To provide proactive and professional administrative services and support to the SEND team within John Clifford School.

The post holder will be responsible to the SENCO and Deputy SENCO and work closely with all members of John Clifford School. They will be expected to build positive relationships with team members, pupils, families and services that support children with SEND.

The post holder will be expected to:

1. Support the strategic aims of John Clifford School and the vision for SEND across the school.

2. Conduct themselves professionally as set out in the Staff Handbook and the Code of Conduct for all employees of White Hills Park Trust.

3. Comply with all Safeguarding and Health and Safety Policies within school.

4. Participate in INSET and training opportunities as required to best fulfil the role.

5. Participate in appraisal and professional growth.

6. Liaise and work with all school staff to support the needs of SEND across the school and in meeting deadlines.

Working within the SEND Team

The post holder will be responsible for:

1. Maintaining and completing SEND communication and documentation.

2. Maintaining and completing SEND communication and documentation in relation to the schools Enhanced Provision Unit, The Hive.

3. Maintaining all pupil files for children supported by the SEND Team and filing and managing ingoing and outgoing post.

4. Scheduling meetings between school, families and outside agents and supporting the facilitation of these within school.

5. Minute taking for meetings concerning SEND in school such as parent meetings or Annual Reviews of Education, Health and Care Plans and any follow up administrative resulting from these meetings.

6. Ordering materials as requested by the SEND Team.

7. General administrative duties to ensure the effective provision within the SEND team.

8. Supporting the timetabling of support staff.

9. Updating and reporting of the SEND register.

10. Undertaking additional duties as requested.

We are looking to recruit a Key Stage Two Teacher on a Full Time Permanent basis. This position is suitable for an ECT. If successfully appointed, you will be supported by a full package of induction and coaching offered by experienced staff.

The Key Stage Two Team is led and managed by a Phase Leader for LKS2 and a Phase Leader for UKS2. Both are supported by Senior Leaders in school. This is a two-form entry school and so there are up to 60 children in each year group. The Key Stage Two classes are located in the Junior side of John Clifford School with Years 4, 5 and 6 being upstairs in the two-storey aspect of our building.

Staff plan together and PPA is set and supported by the team at John Clifford School. There is a close relationship between Key Stage Two and the key stages above and below and staff work together to ensure that information is shared that best supports development. The curriculum has been well developed and builds upon the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1, with a strong emphasis on the acquisition of vocabulary and enhanced, knowledge, skills and understanding in all subjects.
