Assistant Principal job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Principal with a teaching commitment to join All Saints National Academy, part of St Chad’s Academies Trust, guided by the mission “Children First; in the footsteps of St Chad.” Everything we do is rooted in placing children at the centre of decision-making and supporting them to grow academically, socially and emotionally within a caring, inclusive and faith-led community.

In this key leadership role, you will combine classroom practice with whole-school responsibility, helping to drive school improvement, raise standards and strengthen our Christian distinctiveness. You will lead by example through high-quality teaching that inspires curiosity, aspiration and a love of learning, while setting consistently high expectations for all pupils. Your practice will model inclusive, responsive teaching that ensures every child has the opportunity to succeed.

Alongside your teaching commitment, you will play a strategic role in shaping the quality of education, supporting colleagues’ professional development and embedding a culture of high expectations, accountability and care. You will work closely with senior leaders to evaluate impact, lead improvement priorities and ensure our curriculum and provision reflect both excellence and our Christian vision and values.

Strong relationships underpin effective learning at All Saints. You will promote a calm, respectful and purposeful environment across the academy, where pupils feel safe, valued and confident. Working in partnership with staff, families, the SENDCo and external professionals, you will demonstrate a deep commitment to removing barriers to learning and supporting pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.

You will be part of a collaborative and values-driven staff team who value professional dialogue, teamwork and shared responsibility. Service to others is central to our ethos, and leaders are expected to contribute positively to academy life, support colleagues and help shape an environment where both pupils and adults flourish.

All Saints National Academy and St Chad’s Academies Trust are committed to colleague wellbeing and sustainable working practices. We offer guaranteed PPA time, work within STPCD directed time limits, and promote a culture of professional respect, support and growth. We welcome applications from aspiring or experienced leaders who are reflective, child-centred and aligned with our values, regardless of faith background.

Visits to the academy are warmly welcomed. Please contact the academy to arrange a visit.
