Attendance Support Assistant job summary
We seek to appoint an enthusiastic team player with a keen eye for detail who is able to develop positive relationships with students, parents and staff. The main purpose of the role is to monitor lower school attendance
Main duties of post include:
To actively monitor student attendance, working closely with the Attendance Intervention Coordinator/Heads of Year and Student Support Workers.
Actively check lower school attendance to ensure registers are maintained accurately and ensure the safety of students.
Make sure register marks are up to date including late marks, absent students and those with appointments which may mean they are out of school/lessons.
Inform Attendance Intervention Coordinator immediately of any absent, vulnerable students.
Update unauthorised absence marks in light of updated information and ensure no 'N' codes remain.
Return calls for holiday requests and follow up with appropriate letters.
Attempt to locate any students missing from lessons and inform appropriate staff. Call home if necessary.
Chase any outstanding registers.
Produce attendance reports.
Work in line with statutory safeguarding guidance and policies.
Undertake other duties from time to time as the Headteacher require

and diverse” and “Significantly high numbers of pupils participate in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme”. Each year we have around 500 students participating in Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards and
for some parents, our experience in the Award, and the fact that we have an amazing success rate is an important consideration in applying for South.
An important aspect of our work at South Bromsgrove is the development of highly effective teachers and leaders. As lead school within the South Bromsgrove Teacher Training Partnership, we run successful
School Direct Initial Teacher Training programmes. Our work in the provision of National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) for school leaders over a number of years has led the school to build strong
