Responsible to: Senior Attendance Office
Contract: Permanent (Term time + 3 days)
Hrs/wk: 23 hours per week (3 days – Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays)
Salary: Competitive

Job Profile
Co-ordinate student attendance across the school
Daily student registration process
Link person between school and students/parents regarding attendance
Person Specification
A strong desire to work with young people in a support role
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with adults and young people
Able to work under pressure and use own initiative
Competent in using ICT
Active interest in young people, education and positive outcomes for young people
Good literacy and numeracy. Maths and English Grade 5 or equivalent
Committed to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of young people in line with the academy safeguarding policies and procedures
Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
Tasks and duties
Daily registration of student attendance on MIS
Daily monitoring of attendance telephone and email accounts
Text parents following up absences
Produce daily list of absence students for Student Support Officers
First day calling to absent students
Produce statistics on a weekly basis of all students under the school attendance target Years 7-13. Supply reason for absence of all students under 90% - Information passed to Lead SSO for Attendance
Home visits to students with particular attendance concerns
Arrange attendance meetings for students and parents in school as part of the Attendance Panel Process
Support all staff Attendance meetings when required
Monitor lesson attendance throughout the day
Input paper lesson / Tutorial registers
Produce paperwork and gather evidence for Penalty Notice fines
Maintain Penalty Notice spread sheet
Maintain Leave of Absence spreadsheet
Inform both LA Admissions and LA Attendance of students either leaving for Home Education, moving home or changing schools
Respond by letter to Leave of Absence requests
Send letters home to parents of students under Academy target and 90% asking for medical evidence where applicable
Email staff and Line Manager regarding missing lesson / tutorial registers and any conflicting marks
Input trip information onto MIS
Give support in the training of attendance on MIS
Follow up unauthorised absence where no reason has been given
Provide attendance data to prospective employers/Further/Higher Education regarding attendance for pupils who have left school
Liaise with Alternative Provision providers about Student Attendance
Produce statistics regarding Lates
Produce information for Lates and issue Late detentions to students and notify parents
Produce the daily Fire Evacuation registers

Landau Forte Academy QEMS & Tamworth Sixth Form
Landau Forte Academy QEMS joined the Landau Forte Charitable Trust in September 2011 and delivers education to 11-16 year olds. Landau Forte Academy Sixth Form is a purpose-built establishment providing Level 3 courses, both Advanced Level and BTEC, for the whole of Tamworth and beyond. The academies are located on a shared campus, but both operate from their own facilities, with Landau Forte Academy Sixth Form having new bespoke, accommodation, which opened in September 2011, with a new Sports Hall that opened in 2013.
