What skills and experience we're looking for

About the Role

Working closely with our Inclusion Lead, SENCO, and teaching staff, you'll provide direct support to pupils using evidence-based approaches including Zones of Regulation, Sensory Circuits, and Restorative Justice practices. You'll help implement and review Relational Support Plans, respond calmly to challenging situations, and work collaboratively with families and external agencies to ensure every child gets the support they need.

Essential:

  • Experience working with children in an educational or care setting
  • Experience supporting children with behavioural, social or emotional needs
  • Excellent understanding of safeguarding procedures and responsibilities
  • Strong communication skills with children, staff and parents/carers
  • Calm, patient approach with the ability to de-escalate difficult situations
  • Commitment to promoting inclusion and equality for all pupils
  • Willingness to undertake training in Zones of Regulation, Sensory Circuits and positive handling

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a primary school setting
  • Knowledge of Zones of Regulation and Relational Support Planning
  • Experience implementing behaviour support plans or similar interventions
  • Understanding of SEND and inclusive practice
