Our experienced Head teacher and his supportive senior leadership team are looking to appoint an breakfast club playworker and an afterschool club playworker in the extended school provision at Downe Primary School. This could be someone who wishes to take on both positions or can be a split position. This position is term time only which is 38 weeks per year, 21.25 hours per week and fixed term for the duration of requirement in the provision and can be discussed further at interview. The hours working hours are as follows:
Breakfast Club Playworker - 07.20 - 08.35am
Afterschool Club Playworker - 3.10- 6.10pm
Key responsibilities include:
- To work under the guidance of the Breakfast Club Leader to provide childcare for pupils attending Breakfast Club.
- To work under the guidance of the After School Club Leader, Extended School Leader and Head Teacher to provide child care for pupils attending the After School Club.
- Working closely with the children providing encouragement, friendship and supervision. To assist the Manager and Head Teacher in offering the children a wide range of play activities and ensuring that the club offers the children a relaxed, informed and caring environment.
- Establishing good relationships with children – interacting positively with children and encouraging cooperation and mutual support.
- To be an exemplary role model for staff and pupils
