Contract: Fixed-term for one term initially (linked to funding), with potential extension to Summer 2026
Hours: 7.5 hours per week (daily lunchtime hours 11.30am -1.00pm)
Grade: Transform Trust Grade C (points 5–6)
About the Role
Allenton Primary School is seeking a compassionate, reliable and enthusiastic Care Assistant to join our team for the Spring Term 2026. This role will support the personal and care needs of a child with complex SEND during the lunchtime period, and may involve supporting other pupils where necessary.
The post is funding-linked, as reflected in the Recruitment Authorisation Form, and is initially offered for one term. Extension into the summer term may be possible if further funding is secured and the role continues to be required.

Key Responsibilities
As a Care Assistant, your duties will include:
- Supporting personal hygiene, toileting and continence needs
- Assisting with eating, drinking and lunchtime routines
- Providing physical and practical help (e.g., mobility, dressing, organisation)
- Supporting communication, social interaction and the development of independence
- Maintaining appropriate records of care
- Working collaboratively with teachers, TAs, the SENCO and external professionals
- Using initiative and problem-solving skills to ensure pupils are supported safely and sensitively
- Adhering to safeguarding, health and safety and school/Trust policies
