Careers Advisor job summary

Saracens High School is a free school that opened in September 2018 for pupils aged 11-18, in the Colindale area of North London, serving the wonderfully diverse Grahame Park community.

Following the current post holder moving on to teacher training, are looking for a new colleague to become our careers advisor to help lead careers across the school. In this role, as well as advising KS3 and KS4 pupils and helping to lead our 'Futures Programme', you will work closely with the Sixth Form Leadership to help to prepare students for the next stage in their lives, whether that is in education, employment, or training.

Our pupils and families are extremely aspirational. In 2024 KS4 progress was in the top 20% nationally, and KS4 attainment in the top 9%, with Fischer Family Trusts contextual scores putting us in the top 7% for progress and top 4% for 9-4 in English and Maths. This summer our first cohort of Year 13 students achieved exceptional KS5 attainment this summer, with 90% going on to university or to begin a degree apprenticeship, with 15% going to a Russell Group University. This has been achieved within a context where nearly 60% of our children qualify for Free School Meals. In this role, you will truly change young people's lives.

Saracens High School is a new secondary school which opened in September 2018. This year we have our first cohort of Year 11s sitting exams in the summer and we open our Sixth Form in September 2023.

The school is located in the Colindale area of North London with easy access to the Northern Line (Colindale) and mainline rail (Mill Hill Broadway) as well as the M1 and A1.
We will moved into our brand new state of the art building in the autumn of 2021.
