Job Title: Catering Assistant
Actual Annual Salary: £9,142 based on hours and weeks worked (Equal to £12.60 per hour)
Full Time Equivalent Salary: £24,310 - £24,819 (CLF Grade Ai) based on 37 hours per week, all year round.
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Part-Time, 16.25 hours per week, Term Time only plus insets.
Are you looking for a Part Time, Term Time only job in the Taunton area then this opportunity to work within a friendly, busy team could be the role for you:
You’ll be responsible in assisting with school menu planning, food preparation and cooking, and working within a wider team to ensure catering services are carried out efficiently on a daily basis, including stock control and ensuring duties are carried out within a set budget.
About you:
You will have:
- Minimum of a Level 2 award in Food Safety
- A UK Driving License (this role will involve transporting the meals from the primary setting and serving them at our secondary location)
- Previous experience within catering for large numbers in a supervisory role
- Awareness of Health and Safety, dietary and allergen requirements
- Commitment to providing a high-quality and consistent catering service with the ability to work within a busy environment
About Sky Academy:
The Sky Academy is a special school for young people in years 5 - 11 who have an EHCP to support their SEMH and SCL needs. Based in Taunton, our catchment of young people comes from those who live within a 75-minute drive across Somerset. At our core is a belief that every young person deserves the right to an educative experience that prepares them for adulthood and opens doors at Post 16. We do this by providing a targeted core curriculum that focuses in equal parts on literacy, numeracy, PSHCE, and PE in addition to a wider curriculum of Art, ICT, careers and life skills.
