Class Teacher job summary

Are you an inspiring educator looking for a rewarding part-time (0.6) role in a vibrant, community-focused school? Do you want to work in a setting that celebrates diverse cultures, values creative thinking, and tries to support every child’s educational journey?

If so, we would love to welcome you to St Helen’s Primary School!

At St Helen’s, we strive to inspire curious and creative thinkers who explore the world with confidence. We cultivate resilient and reflective learners who embrace challenges, while fostering articulate and empathetic individuals who make a positive impact.

Our characterful, three-storey Edwardian building sits in the heart of Ipswich — complete with its own basement swimming pool! Defined by the rich cultural diversity of our school community, we proudly welcome families from a wide range of backgrounds. We view this cultural wealth as one of our greatest strengths, helping our pupils build deep global understanding and empathy from an early age.

Our town-centre location allows us to make full use of local arts, heritage, and green spaces to enrich our bespoke curriculum, including partnerships with DanceEast on the Ipswich Waterfront. Furthermore, through our dedicated SEND nurture class, we ensure that every child can flourish academically and socially at their own pace.

As part of the ASSET Education trust, we share a mission of Nurturing Humanity — equipping and empowering the next generation to create a more compassionate, equitable, and sustainable world.
