About this Role
The Governors of Finch Woods Academy are seeking to appoint a Middle School Class Teacher for September 2026.
About us:
Finch Woods Academy is a rapidly improving, innovative, forward-thinking specialist provision for male and female pupils from Year 5 through to Year 12. All of our pupils have EHCPs for Social, Emotional and Mental Health and other complex needs. Our most recent Ofsted inspection judged that we are operating at expected level for 5 of the inspected categories and strong in the category of Leadership and Governance. Finch Woods Academy is a part of Manor Hall Academy Trust, a specialist Trust of 16 academies, providing high levels of support, training and specialist teamwork across all schools.
Finch Woods Academy adopt a ‘stage not age’ approach to the curriculum and this post will require the successful candidate to teach all subjects for a Year 7 class. The pupils within this class may be working well below age-related expectations. The successful candidate will liaise with the Middle Phase leader, and support other teachers and assistants who might be delivering aspects of the curriculum, providing advice, support and training wherever it is needed.
